This course is written and taught by practicing CPA, Terry Bakker from the point of view of an actual practitioner.  This course will focus on the Form 706 with emphasis to the rules for the states of Oregon and Washington.  With the increasing estate tax exemption at the federal level, the Estate Tax is seen a rare form, but that isn't true when you consider the exemption for Oregon estates is $1,000,000 and for Washington it's $2,193,193.  This class will review the challenges in preparing the documentation, calculations, and preparation of the Oregon, Washington, and Federal estate tax returns, the preparation of the 706 to claim the portability election at the Federal level, and issues of estates that have cross border properties.
